Stannah team help to raise money for local charity
A team from the South West England & South Wales Service Branch tested their nerves on Saturday 8th October, for the second year running, to abseil down 8 floors of Bristol’s Children’s Hospital to raise money for Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity.
Donning superhero fancy dress, everyone faced their fears to complete the descent with huge smiles on their faces.
Dan White, South West England & South Wales Branch Manager, said: “Well done to Ryan and Les for tackling the challenge. As the third member of the team, I can say it’s high when you are standing at the top! Many thanks to Big Bristol Abseil for a fantastic event, it’s our pleasure to be supporting this great event and saying thank you to our amazing NHS staff".
The branch raised over £1500 once match funded by the Stannah Group. The money raised from the event will fund projects above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW).
Funds are used to provide everything from the little things that can help relieve anxiety, promote recovery, and make a patient's stay easier. Additionally, the charity funds the transformation of underused spaces to give patients privacy for life-changing decisions and conversations, as well as the development of new technologies and treatments that can change the lives of patients or even save them.
