Stannah North West England & North Wales service branch - your local lift company
The Stannah North West England and North Wales service branch offers a range of lift and stairlift services, covering the main centres of Llandudno, Manchester, Liverpool, Preston and Carlisle – and everywhere in between. We're part of an independent British family business that prides itself on providing local lift maintenance, breakdown and repair services, delivering that personal touch and being 'always true to our word'.
Servicing & repair for ALL types of lifts from ALL manufacturers
We know how important a working lift or stair lift is. We pride ourselves on thorough lift service visits as part of any service contract, ensuring every part is checked over and helping to prevent costly lift repair bills. Whilst we’ve over 150 years of lift expertise, we’re also well known for stairlifts. We offer a stairlift repair and call-out service, providing stairlift servicing for both Stannah and other manufacturers. Plus with our emergency breakdown cover, we’ll put your lifting device back into service as quickly as possible.
Stairlift & lift maintenance contracts
We offer 3 standard maintenance contracts, designed to suit every need and budget, along with custom service contracts. But we don’t only help contract customers! If you don’t have a service agreement, that’s not a problem, our experienced lift engineers can still help.
Lift refurbishment, lift modernisation & turn-key lift installation
We also get involved in lift refurbishment, lift modernisation and turn-key lift installation, regularly working with clients, consultants, architects and contractors and ensuring we deliver excellent customer service. Some of our projects include a unique installation at the magnificent Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, escalator and lift installations at the Leeds Station southern entrance and lift refurbishments at Hamilton Square Station on the Wirral.
From the depths of Cumbria to the wonderful north coast of Wales and right across the urban spread from Leeds to Liverpool with our network of local service engineers we look after thousands of lifts, stairlifts, escalators and moving walkways.
We’re available 24 hours, 365 days a year. Simply call us and we will do all we can to help.
What our customers say
Case studies
We help people get on with their lives. Whether it’s a lift at the station, a dumbwaiter at the coffee shop, a platform lift at the library, an escalator at the shopping centre, a moving walkway at the supermarket, a goods lift at the pub or a stairlift at home – we’re there quietly helping life happen.
Maximising independence for all at Edinburgh Waverley Train Station
At RIBA North, the Royal Institute of British Architects’ new national architecture centre on the Liverpool Waterfront, a Stannah Piccolo was the passenger lift of choice to aid freedom of movement. Its stylish interior was perfectly suitable for the architecturally spectacular Mann Island development overlooking the historic Albert Dock and River Mersey.

Running a Wetherspoons pub is thirsty work, but a Stannah Goodsmaster CD Plus (chain drive) goods attendant lift makes light work of it in the Leeds City Station outlet of this real-ale chain pub in West Yorkshire. Lugging up to 1500kg between basement and ground level, the Goodsmaster’s payload includes barrels of beer, cooking ingredients and employees.

At Almelo House, a 2-storey sheltered accommodation in Preston, Lancashire, having an unreliable lift spelled disaster for residents on the first floor with mobility issues. The old Schindler hydraulic lift had reached the end of its lifespan, so the housing association, Community Gateway, replaced the lift with a modern traction passenger lift from Stannah.
